How to Launch Your Free Tool: A Simple Guide

Product Launch Directory is a free place for makers to show their web tools. You do not need an account or a password. This guide explains each step and gives a few tips for a better listing.

Step by step

1. Open the home page and tap + Submit.
2. Paste your website URL first. Then tap Auto-fill from website. We read the public title and description of your site and suggest a name, tagline and logo.
3. Check every field and fix anything that looks wrong. Auto-fill only gives suggestions.
4. Choose the best category and add up to 4 tags.
5. Enter your email. It is not shown publicly. It is used only to send you your Edit Key.
6. Tap Launch now. Your product appears in the list right away.
7. Copy your Edit Key from the pop-up and keep it safe.

About your Edit Key

The Edit Key is your private password for this product. With it you can update or delete your listing at any time: tap Edit with Key in the top bar and paste it. We also send a copy by email within a few minutes. If you lose the key and the email, we cannot recover your listing for you, so please save it.

Rules for a listing

• Name: 2 to 60 characters. Tagline: 5 to 100 characters. Description: 20 to 400 characters.
• Your website must start with http:// or https:// and must work.
• Choose from the categories: AI Tools, Developer Tools, Productivity, Marketing, Design, Finance and Education.
• One product, one website. Duplicate websites are rejected.
• Free or free-to-try web tools only. No adult, illegal, misleading or harmful content.
• No spam, fake reviews or copied descriptions.

Tips for a better listing

• Write the tagline like a promise. Say what the tool does in plain words, for example "Compress images in your browser, no upload".
• Use a clear logo. A square image works best. If you skip it, we show a letter icon.
• Pick tags people search for, such as #free or #no-signup.
• Answer comments. Visitors can leave comments on your product. Friendly replies build trust.
• Share your product link. Every product has its own link, so you can send it to friends or post it on social media.

How upvotes work

Each browser can upvote a product once. Upvotes decide the order in the Top view. Please do not ask people to vote with fake accounts or paid services.
